Amr worked an assistant researcher in foreign policy affairs when he was a fellow of AUC, and his research focused on European-American relations, and studies of war and terrorism. His graduate research also focused on the impact of public policy-making processes on the political system, and the problems of democracy and democratization. Amr worked for 5 years as a research associate in international research centers, and as a policy analyst at specialized international sites. His writings focused on issues of democracy, foreign affairs, and national security.
In addition, Amr worked in non-profit organizations, and participated as a lecturer in public policies in political development projects at the American University in Cairo (AUC), Cairo University, Assiut University, and others.
He is also interested in studying the Japanese language, and studying Japanese culture and history.

International relations, international security, public international law, conflict, democracy and democratization, civil-military relations, human rights, political systems, and political theories

US sanctions on China in the Trump-era
The Trump administration had an incoherent and inconsistent policy toward China that failed to deliver on its promises. Now the Biden administration is more diplomatic in its handling of what Trump has left it.
